Run, run, run. Stop.

That's what if feels like to me when I finish a novel. It take me roughly two years from first draft to publication. The whole time I'm in that world with the characters I've created, and manipulating their lives to suit me, and of course to suite you, the reader (but mostly me :-).

I'm drawn to my desk like a moth to a flame until the story is told, the cover is finished, and the novel is launched into the world for consumption.

Then I wait, take a breath, and dive into another first draft.

That's where I am now.

That's where I belong.

For the next two years.
